Portfolio and Operating Platforms

Precious Metals

TASICO’s precious-metals platform comprises the operating Taftan Gold complex, the Saqqez/Qolqoleh gold development and the Rangan silver processing project. Priorities include safe production, phased growth, resource replacement, reliable feed supply, metallurgical performance and responsible mine development.

Copper and Non-Ferrous Metals

Through Shahid Bahonar Copper Industries Company and selected strategic equity interests, TASICO participates in the production and development of copper and copper-alloy products and maintains exposure to the broader non-ferrous metals sector. Value creation in this platform is pursued through product quality, capacity utilization, market development, working-capital discipline, modernization and selective investment in higher value-added applications.

Coal and Coal Processing

The Group’s coal platform is anchored by Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and related development activities in the Tabas coalfield. Strategic priorities include safe mine development, continuity of production, underground development, coal-preparation efficiency, resource and reserve replacement, equipment reliability and the progressive strengthening of the coal value chain.

Industrial Minerals and Engineered Materials

TASICO’s industrial-minerals and engineered-materials businesses include activities in mineral salts and chemical derivatives, kaolin and china clay, refractory materials, mineral powders, glass-wool and insulation products, and related industrial inputs. These businesses serve a range of domestic manufacturing sectors and contribute to the diversification and resilience of the portfolio.

Ceramics and Building Materials

TASICO retains established capabilities in ceramic tiles, glazes and related building materials. The strategic focus in this segment is on modernization, product differentiation, quality consistency, energy and resource efficiency, market development, export capability and disciplined capacity management.

Exploration, Drilling, Engineering and Innovation

Specialized exploration, drilling, engineering and innovation platforms support TASICO’s investment and operating companies. These capabilities are intended to improve the quality of technical decisions, accelerate project maturation, reduce dependency on fragmented external services, promote knowledge retention and facilitate the application of modern exploration, processing, automation and digital technologies.

Strategic Equity Investments

In addition to controlled operating companies, TASICO may hold significant or minority equity interests in selected mining, metals and industrial enterprises. These investments are managed through a portfolio-governance and capital-allocation framework. They should be distinguished from assets directly controlled or operated by TASICO or its subsidiaries.

Active Ownership and Integrated Value Creation

TASICO is not solely a passive financial investor. Within the limits of applicable law and the governance rights attached to each investment, the Company applies an active-ownership model that combines strategic direction, board-level oversight, performance management, capital allocation and project governance.

  • Portfolio strategy and capital-allocation discipline
  • Board representation and governance oversight
  • Technical and economic review of major projects
  • Operational performance and productivity management
  • Financial planning, financing strategy and liquidity oversight
  • Risk management, internal controls and audit coordination
  • Procurement, commercial and market synergies where appropriate
  • Technology, engineering and knowledge-sharing platforms
  • Human-capital development and succession planning
  • Health, safety, environmental and social-performance oversight

The Group’s integrated approach is intended to create synergies across selected parts of the value chain; it does not alter the separate legal personality, statutory obligations or governance responsibilities of individual portfolio companies.

Development Pipeline

TASICO’s development pipeline is intended to strengthen the quality, scale and earnings capacity of the portfolio. Current areas of focus include:

  • Production stabilization and phased development of the Taftan Gold complex
  • Mine development and completion of the Saqqez gold processing project
  • Development and commissioning of the Rangan silver processing project
  • Expansion and efficiency improvement within the Tabas coal value chain
  • Further development of exploration, drilling and technical-engineering capabilities
  • Capacity enhancement and product development in industrial minerals and engineered materials
  • Modernization and selective expansion in insulation, ceramics and building-materials businesses

The timing, scope, capacity and economics of development projects remain subject to corporate approvals, financing availability, permitting, technical results, market conditions, supply-chain performance, contractual execution and other risk factors. Project descriptions should therefore be updated against the latest approved plans and official disclosures before publication.

Geographic Presence and Regional Contribution

TASICO’s operating companies and development projects are distributed across a number of Iran’s mining and industrial regions. This geographic footprint provides access to mineral resources, industrial clusters, infrastructure and markets, while also creating long-term responsibilities toward local communities, employees, regional authorities and the natural environment.

The Group seeks to support regional development through productive investment, direct and indirect employment, local procurement, skills development, infrastructure cooperation and responsible stakeholder engagement. Such contributions must remain aligned with project economics, legal requirements, approved corporate policies and transparent governance.
